Hello gorgeous! ๐๐ฝ If you're the type of high-achieving girly who researches everything, plans ahead, and needs to see all the stats before making a move, this episode is EXACTLY for you. And listen, I get it because I used to be SO disconnected from my intuition. I thought it was all woo-woo nonsense until I completely shifted my life by learning to follow it—and now everything feels like it flows with such ease and relaxation. ๐
Why Your Intuition is Your Relationship Superpower
Let me paint you a picture of what life looks like when you actually trust your intuition, bb. When you activate your relationship intuition, life becomes SO much easier. I'm talking effortless kind of easy! โจ
Instead of trying to figure everything out in your head, doing all the research, planning ahead, and trying to control outcomes, you can actually be present in the NOW and trust your intuition to guide you. You become less overwhelmed because you're not constantly spinning in your mind about what could happen.
I used to struggle in my relationship—it felt like this constant battle to get my husband to close the distance with me and move towards me. Now? He's literally always thinking of me and trying to make my life easier. A huge part of that shift happened because I learned to trust my intuition and became a living example of what that looks like. ๐
The Real Reason You Don't Trust Your Intuition
If you're someone who thinks intuition is a bunch of "foo-foo" (and honey, I totally get it!), there's probably a really good reason why.
Being in your body and trusting your feelings probably wasn't safe growing up. It wasn't valued or okay, so you learned to shut it down and train yourself out of it. If trusting your body and your gut feelings got you in trouble or didn't keep you safe as a kid, then of course you'd learn to ignore it! ๐
For me, valuing my intuition was literally trained and conditioned out of me at a very young age. But here's what I want you to trust me on—that programming CAN be undone. You can absolutely change this pattern and reconnect with your inner knowing.
The 3 Ways You're Blocking Your Relationship Intuition
Okay gorgeous, let's talk about the main ways we completely block ourselves from accessing our intuition (and yes, I'm about to get real with you about this):
1. Operating From "Should" Energy
The moment you start "should-ing" on yourself, you're shutting out your intuition. When you're thinking "I should find someone who lives in this location," "I should pick the partner with these qualities," "I should, should, should"—you're operating from your head instead of your gut.
I literally caught myself doing this while planning our trip to the Philippines and Japan. I was researching and trying to get it "right" until my gut said YES to the perfect resort, and I just followed it. Magic! โจ
2. Choosing Irritation and Mental Spirals
If you tend to get irritated and pick little fights (hello, my fire sign girlies! ๐ฅ), that irritation is actually taking you OUT of your intuition. When you're like a little French bulldog with a rag toy, just getting worked up about scenarios playing out in your head, you're not allowing your intuition to come through.
That irritation is usually just unaddressed emotion, and when you're busy "chewing on the bone" of whatever story you're making up, you're getting distracted from what your intuition is actually trying to tell you.
3. Overthinking Everything
This is the big one, babe! Overthinking is literally on the opposite spectrum of intuition. When you're overthinking, you're not connected to the now—you're living in the land of "what if" and worst-case scenarios. ๐ช๏ธ
When you're ruminating, playing scenarios over and over, analyzing those texts for the millionth time, you are 100% blocking yourself from what's naturally trying to come through. You literally cannot access your intuition when you're stuck in your head!
How to Recognize When You're Blocking Yourself
The beautiful thing is that once you can recognize which pattern you typically fall into (and most of us have one we go to more often), you can remove that block and allow your intuition to shine forward. ๐
These patterns are deeply conditioned and subconscious, which means we're often not even aware we're doing them. But awareness is the first step to freedom, gorgeous!
Ask yourself:
- Am I "should-ing" on myself right now?
- Am I choosing irritation over presence?
- Am I overthinking instead of feeling into this situation?
Your Personal Intuition Example (Because This Stuff is REAL)
Let me share a story that completely changed my perspective on intuition. When I moved to Denver, I was so disconnected from my body and had a terrible relationship with trusting myself. But during my first visit, we drove past this gym at the bottom of a hill, and I literally SAW myself there—working with clients, feeling completely in my element.
I could taste it, feel it, see myself in that space. We kept driving, and I thought "that's interesting." A year later? I was personal training in that exact gym with an amazing clientele! ๐คฉ
That was such a clear example of my intuition speaking to me, even when I didn't fully believe in it yet.
